Maybe these will give you some ideas for cooking- I can't find my cherished cookbook right now that gives TONS of recipes for corn.

As far as how to shell corn? We have an antique corn sheller, but you can buy hand shellers - metal disks that remove the corn from the cob- or you can do it by hand without a sheller. If you go this route- wear heavy gloves! And only plan on shelling a few ears at a time.

My FIL had a big crank handle corn sheller, but only shelled the corn for animal food. The kids (me, too!) loved taking turns dropping corn into it and cranking the handle to make buckets of feed.
