How many literature/read-aloud chapter books do you read to your children each year?

I am a Sonlight user, so we do a lot of read alouds.

But, I haven't kept to the schedule.

Not counting history, which is separate from read-alouds until Level 3, we only read 6 or 7 chapter books aloud each school year.

A friend whose child was at a good Christian school said they only read 2 (Charlotte's Web and one other) during the school year.

So, what kind of baseline are the other homeschoolers using?

Since Jan 1, we have read (chapter books):
These Happy Golden Years (finished Little House series for the second time)
Ben and Me
Trumpet of the Swan
Anne of Green Gables
The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe
Miracle on Maple Hill
and we are halfway through Twig (excellent girly book!)

Wow! I am impressed. Since Jan 1st, we have read A Little Princess and most of Red Sails to Capri.

How did your children like The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe? I was thinking of reading mine the Narnia series over the summer. Or maybe the Little House books. Or maybe ...
