It is just hubby and me and two dogs that shed like crazy. I generally wash 4 loads a week - 1 dark (hubby's uniforms, dark socks and t-shirts, jeans), 1 light (socks, underwear, shorts, shirts), 1 load of sheets and towels (I don't use paper towels so I throw all dish towels and napkins in with bath towels and sheets), 1 load of throw rugs and dog bed covers.

every single day. ugh. i hate laundry, it's never ending. my son has ts and has a tic with clothing and showers. he'll shower 2-3x's a day and change his clothing. always new clothes, new towels. could be worse though, i have a relative that her family refuses to shower, or shall i say shower more often than once or two weeks, eewww, it's just awful, i'll take my son's need to be really clean any day over that.

Two adults. We use our bath towels for a week and also re-wear as much outer clothing as possible and only toss it in the wash when it's dirty. People wear out more clothes by washing and drying in a clothes dryer, as they do wearing them. I do as many loads as will fit on my indoor or outdoor clotheslines:

Tuesday night (while I watch TV or read a book)-
1 hot water load - whites/lights (includes washcloths and hand towels)
1 load darks/medium colored clothes
1 hot water load - of kitchen towels (a week's worth)

Saturday morning-
1 load - includes sheets/pillowcases, 2 bath towels and a tub mat

Saturday night-
1 load whites/lights
1 load darks/medium colors

If I hang clothes outside, I still wash them at night and load them into the laundry basket and hang them outside the next morning, although I rarely hang clothing outside now that I have lines in the basement. No more: sun-bleached clothes, freezing fingers in cold weather, bird poo, bugs and wasps hidden in a pants leg, wind whipping things to death, unexpected rain showers...

Everything that is normally hung on a hanger is also dried on a hanger so they go directly from the clothesline to the closet. I flat-fold like-kinds of things together (all the wash clothes, hand towels, my undies, hubby's undies, etc....) and stack them wet in the laundry basket.

Because I hang like-things together, I take them off the line together, fold them as I take them off the line and place them in the basket - which means I only have to handle them once. It only takes a few minutes to remove and fold, and then I can quickly put them away because they are already folded and stacked. I have a table in the drying room in the basement for folding, and hubby made me a bench for this outside by the clothesline.

Seems like as soon as I walk in the door from work I start laundry, when I go to bed the dryer is still going. There are 5 of us and we go through a lot of clothes, towels etc... Weekends are more though cause I do bedding plus regular laundry.

Every day; unfortunately! I do not necessarily hate laundry it is putting it away and getting the kids to put their's away without finding its way back into dirty laundry.....

I do about 2 loads twice a week. My fiancee and I are trying to cut back on this by wearing our jeans more than once. As long as I don't get grease from the machines on mine, I try to wear them 3 times before I wash them. My fiancee has a little more to watch out for. He has to make sure he doesn't get battery acid on his. Here's how I keep track of how many times I have worn a pair of jeans.

First time I fold all clean jeans in 1/2, and then in 1/2 again.
Second time I button the button or zip the zipper.
Third time I roll them up from the bottom up.

Almost every day, and I pay for it the next day if I miss one. I have 2 preteens that are on the soccer field at least 5 times a week along with a husband that does physical labor (think being in someones attic fixing the AC in the middle of summer) and I've gone back to excersizing routinely. The stinky stuff just can't sit.

One to two loads every other day. I hate laundry to pile up and we don't have enough clothes to let it pile up!

Wow...I feel SO much better.

I'm not a freak~LOL~!

I wash 2-3 loads a day usually...even with oldest son washing his own, I still do his towels. In the summer, I try to hang stuff on the line AND there are a lot less clothes. One of many reasons I love summer.:)

We have a well, so I can't do it all in one day. I have a girlfriend who does laundry only on Sunday. I'd run the well dry if I did That~!

Funny you mention laundry. If anyone's interested..read my blog about my latest washing woes.

WHEN THE SPIRIT (or lack of clean clothes/towels/bedding) MOVES ME!! :toothy:

Actually, I tend to launder when it is sunny, slightly breezy, and not humid.......so I can hang it out. Oh--and not too buggy, either. Ewwww.........:puck:

Part of my morning routine is to check and see what loads need to be washed. Generally at least one or two loads.

Today as a load of darks and a load of whites. I also took the bath towels (that I washed yesterday) out of the drier and folded them.

Tomorrow will be probably be a load of underwear and misc. towels. maybe a load of sheets/blankets.

I use to be able to have certain days that I washed. I would call these days movie days. Like a day off, sort of -- no other house cleaning allowed but the laundry and I would watch movies will I folded and waited for the next load to get done.

Doesn't work that way anymore. I wonder why?

There's only the 3 of us, so maybe 3 loads a week, sometimes 4. I try to rewear my clothes if they're not dirty. I have 3 baskets near my washer. When one is full enough for a full load, then I wash it.

I have a large family - 6 kids, 3 grands. There are only 4 kids in the house full time, but the older two come over to use the washer/dryer. So, to keep everything running, I am doing laundry every day though sometimes it is only one complete load.

I don't know anymore because I only do my own and bedding. Switched back to wearing anything I can twice. (nightwear, jeans, sweaters). My DH and Teen kids are responible for their own. My DH works at home so he can flip loads at "work". I personally do 2 loads plus bedding every other week.
I would say they wash once a week,2 loads each. So I guess 8 loads plus bedding/towels. This goes down in summer.
