Mom's computer won't let me add any software (printer stuff and
camera stuff) when we start up the computer we get a message that
says winint.exe file missing.

She also gets a 'P/' file missing error message when she boots up the
computer.

When we tried to reload just the wininit.exe file- it says it cannot
operate within windows?

Can someone help?

I asked DH. It sounds as if something in Windows got corrupted and you may have to reload Windows, which would mean having to reload everything. If the computer was purchased from a manufacturer as opposed to being built by an individual, it may have a restore disk which would make reloading easier. I hope someone has a less drastic solution.
