Oh yea another thing my local paper here last week doubled in price for the Sunday paper, went from 1.50 to 3.00. I used to buy one local Sunday paper for the news and it did have coupons, not as many and not as high value and I would buy two Orlando Sentinal's for the coupons alone. Very rarely would I read that paper. Now I just buy the two Orlando papers they are 2.00 each.

Yes the coupons are just not like they use to be.. just in a example..I laughed but was upset at the same time when I saw the .20/1 Old Spice bodywash..umm that is $3.50 a bottle at Walmart which is the cheapest price on average in my area and the same coupon that came out last month was $2.50/1 bottle..I'm really disgusted to be honest because I really think this is probably the end of the good coupons that we all use to know..

I'm about to end my newspaper subscription since I only subscribe for the Sunday paper coupons and we only get the red plum and P&G. In the last month there haven't been any coupons that I would use myself, so it's just a waste of money to me.

I had subscribed to the St. Louis paper only to find out they do not insert the coupons for mail delivery.

HUGE slump here in Memphis. In fact our paper, the commercial appeal explained that the company that sends them the smart source coupons has cut the number of coupons they send, so coupons are now going in the papers of paid subscribers first and any left over will go the street hawkers and store display papers....ok, so why aren't we getting any proctor and gamble coupons either? I smell a rat! Guess I'll have to go buy some ink and start printing the online coupons...just hope the stores take them, that is always hit or miss around here.

I still find good deals on vitamins, make up and personal care stuff but not really food or diapers. Costco is still the cheapest place for me to get diapers. Although amazon has them for one penny less per diaper.

I've been couponing since my early 20's and yes the coupons are not as good as they use to be. I don't think .35 cents off tide is a good deal, but I did find out at Walmart they sale the little packs for a $1.00, it is a one use pack (I manage to get two loads out of it).
I do think the extreme couponing show did not help people who didn't over abuse the coupons. I only buy what we use. But I still can get great matchups with CVS and my coupons.
I was telling dh if we lived in the areas the extreme couponers lived we would want for nothing.
Mainly I look for meat sales ( no coupons there) and here lately a local grocer has had coupons on crackers, soups, sauce where if you buy 1 you get two free, I only use the ones we would eat.
I think you have to look harder for your savings with or without the coupons. I do really well and this past year I kept a spreadsheet of my savings just so I could show dh at the end of the year what I saved in groceries, discounts on other items, etc. I saved over $4700, that is enough for me to keep doing it. Right now I'm at a little of a stand still, meaning the items I need to get, I'm not buying because the sale and the coupon are not worth it to me.

That isn't a good deal on tide. It is 20 cents a load at costco. (not trying to be snarky just fyi) because I just did a bunch of calculations on laundry detergent since Kirkland Signature Soap was on coupon.

I don't take many things to heart joyous jasmine. Maybe I typed it wrong,. lol. I was meaning .35 off tide is a bad deal to me. But if I have one I do use it on the small packs, which would be .65 cents after the coupon. I use that on dh's work uniforms. Mostly my favorite is Purex, I don't itch from it and my clothes smell good.

Over the summer, was the best deals for me getting laundry detergent. Some stores had bottles for 1.99 and had a $2.00 coupon off, so free and CVS this summer had Wisk b1g1 free, so two bottles for free. :) But I haven't seen coupons like that since then.

Sunday's paper had RedPlum and SmartSource - out of one entire packet, I cut ONE, just one coupon!! I'm finding it harder to get coupons I'll use. The ones that come in the few magazines I subscribe to are expired by the time I get around to use them.
