The other night, I made some pork chops and had some leftovers. DH covered the baking dish with aluminum foil and forgot to put them in the fridge. So they sat out for about 7 hrs (overnight). When dh got up in the AM- he put them in the fridge. He's says they'll be OK since they were covered. I don't think I want to touch them with a ten foot pole. What do you think?

Definitely throw it out. And Melissa is right--when in doubt, throw it out. The food poisoning that will most likely result from eating food that's been left out isn't worth the money you'll save by eating them.

Thanks gals- I threw them out and dh saw the baking dish soaking in the sink "Why did you throw them out?" So I used Melissa's line. He said there was no doubt in his mind. I told him I didn't want to take any chances since we can't afford the hospital bill right now. "OH, OK honey"

How simple minded can a man really be?

I would throw it out. I had something similar happen the other night. We got a roast out and left it on the counter to thaw because I was going to put it in the crock pot. Well, we forgot to put it in the frig before we went to bed. So, needless to say, I threw out a 2 1/2 lb roast.
