Thought I'd start a thread for mini goals :)

1. Wake up at 5:00 every morning to walk on my treadmill/shower and spend time with God before waking the kids up at 7:00.

2. Finish unpacking from the move.

3. Paint DD6's mirror.

4. Paint DD6's bookcase.

5. Avoid fast food. :)

6. Participate in Second Saturday Serve.

7. Menu Plan.

8. Budget Plan/Catch Up.

9. Plan DD3.5's 4th Birthday Party.

Going to begin my plan today... back to school for myself and our 3 kids tomorrow! :)

Love the idea of mini-goals...definitely feels more reachable!

1. Make lunches for kids and dh EVERY SINGLE DAY. We're good with the kids, but I often forget about dh's lunch and he's always running late, so doesn't make it himself, so he winds up buying something. It adds up and it needs to stop.

2. Get the bedrooms moved around and the nursery set up. The truth is, this is a job for dh, not me, but it's still a "family goal" for January. I'm nervous the baby is coming WAY early.

3. Stay on top of the laundry.

4. Keep grocery bill to under $400 for the month.

I'm in - step by step is a good way to get things done vs being scared looking at the mountain of things to do!

January's goals:
* go to the gym minimum 3 times/wk (hopefully after I drop DF at work each am)

* spend 1/2 the day (approx 3-4 hours) working on decluttering/organizing before going to pick up DH from work - need to make room for his stuff b/c its all coming to the house very soon!

* try to sneak in a lil QT with myself - watching tv or reading

Im going to keep it simple and see how I do :)

Great idea. I agree that goals seem more attainable when broken down like this :)

January Goals

House
- Finish decorating the living room (buy nails and put photos up).
- Get dehumidifier.
- Iron 3/4 of SO's shirts and trousers before the beginning of each week.

Money
- Make packed lunch for work every day unless it's a specific treat day.
- Set up direct debit to SO's account for electricity bill.
- Bump up my savings account to £1000. Set up a new savings 'holiday' account and start saving money into said account.

Class
- Complete learning logs for class.
- Spend one day a week doing class work (not necessarily the whole day!)

Self
- Clear out old wardrobe and get new clothes.
- Do something productive and fun on one of my weekly days off: baking/craft/market shopping.

Health
- Follow Paul McKenna's weight loss rules - reach and maintain 8st 11lbs by Jan 31st.
- Drink one glass of fruit juice daily.
- Buy two types of fruit/snackable veg. weekly.

I too need a net surfing goal -- recently I'm shocked to find myself just sitting in front of the laptop, waiting patiently for someone, anyone, to post something!

Scary.

I do have a mini goal to tell you all about, though. Somewhere I read somebody saying we 'should' jumpstart our days with 7 minutes exercise!

7 minutes! I can do that! In fact, I have been doing it -- on the exercise bike while waiting for the coffee to brew. I've done it 4 mornings in a row.

And today I put on the tv around noon (gasp!) and rode the bike again through some silly show I like.

Feeling proud:applause:

I love this idea.

Here are my January Goals

-Register for one university class (at home type classes from a local university) (Proud to say everything is ready and only need to drop it off in the mail tomorow! woot!)

-Declutter office

-Send out thank you notes from our wedding... ahem.. really embarrasse about this... We actually got married October 3rd.. 2009! I know! But we have the cards and the nice pictures, and I can't keep all of them... and I can't throw them away.. Soooo I'll just write a "better late than never" message on them!

-Make appointment for dentist, optometrist and doctor for myself.

That should do it for January!

Great idea!

January goals:

  • Stay on diet!
  • Clean office/sewing room thoroughly
  • Get started on making baby quilt for nephew's soon-to-be born baby
  • Find a job! Time to get back to work
  • Put all clean clothes away - I tend to live out of hampers
  • Reorganize kitchen - too many things got stashed (thanks to DH) in odd places over the holidays

Thus far the only concrete thing I have completed is one step of the banking, but it's a start. The standing order (which I forever mistakingly refer to as a 'direct debit') to SO's account is in place.

Tonight:
- Ask SO to put photos up.
- Think about what else to do with the living room.

Tomorrow:
- Bump up savings account.
- Standing order for savings account.
- Set up new savings account.

Plus, I'm making a start on my wardrobe as of now :thumb:

-Getting there!

3. Paint DD6's mirror.
-DONE!

4. Paint DD6's bookcase.
-Still need to find one for my books, before I paint this...

5. Avoid fast food. :)
-So far, so good!

6. Participate in Second Saturday Serve.
-Missed due to my back, I was so bummed.

7. Menu Plan.
-So far, so good. Hubby did a great job while I was unable to move.

I have to start checking this site more often - hope I'm not too late for this :)

2. Finish sewing a new pair of pjs (I'm new to sewing)
3. Complete at least 5 pillowcases for kids in hospital with cancer

In keeping with my 'do one productive/fun thing per week' goal, tomorrow morning I am going to the local market (can't wait, there is even live jazz music at it!) and then meeting my brother for lunch.

Really looking forward to it :).

1) Clean/declutter garage so van actually fits.
2) Work on sister's Christmas present (six dishclothes to go with the books I have and a couple of ornaments I plan to make)
3) Plan garden and start leeks and celery.
4) Organize routines -get kids on board with before bed routine.
5) Write essay on Parkinson's disease.
6) Organize financial binder -starting with insurance policies, banking accounts, and investments.

I will have to roll some of this to February, but hoping this focuses me.

This thread is really helping me get the smaller steps done, even if it's going slowly! :).

Didn't make it to the market today, I instead looked up recipes this morning since I've decided to do a spot of baking as outlined in my goals.

Lunch with my brother was great and I managed to buy some 'alternative to nails' sticky stuff to put the photos up in the living room. I'll definitely feel like I've accomplished something when these go on the wall! :mdance:.
