Okay, so here is the story.
Me, not being born here and still learning a lot just responded to a post from someone close to my area. Thought it be someone, stay at home mom or in any case a mom and thought since she is new maybe to chat. Ha--my friend almost freaked. She said the abreviation was for a man-- .Heck do I feel stupid

You are in a large club. Many of us try to make fools out of oursselves at least 2x a week lol.

one of my favorites-I do not follow fashion.
Severla years ago I was in Sams Club. I was chatting w/ a lady across 2 of those clothes table so we were not right next to each other (always chat w/ random strangers)
She holds up a small purse. She says it' s dinky. I said yea I got way to much stuff to put in a purse that small. She gives me an odd look. I go on my merry clueless way.

Flash forward 2 weeks I am back at Sams. I am actually on that area. It is not dinky. As in SMALL.
It is DKNY (Donna Karen of New York). I feel so stupid even though it was 2 weeks before. Now I understand the look.lol.

My dad was a great one for mishearing:

One day a young lady came to the door and he told her he wasn't interested in contributing but thanked her for coming by. Mom asked him who they were collecting for and he said "Sister Fibrosis" (Cystic Fibrosis).

Another time when we lived in Florida a young man came to the door and all he said was "mami noos?" Dad asked him twice to repeat himself and Mom chimed in and said "He wants to know if we'll subscribe to the Miami News".
