Kicked-Up Beans

Recipe Description
Great to take to potlucks or for holiday dinners. I made this for a church bean dinner and they scraped the bottom of the pan... was waiting for someone to lick the pan!!!
Preparation Steps:
Level of Difficulty:
Easy
Time Needed:
1 hour + prep time
Ingredients:
2 large cans Bush's Bold and Spicy Baked Beans
2 large cans Bush's (or store brand) Home-style Baked Beans
1 large onion, diced
1/2 green pepper, diced
1 clove garlic, pressed
1/2 reg. size bottle ketchup
1 bottle Sweet Baby Ray BBQ sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
1-1/2 lb. ground beef
1 lb. smoked sausage, cut into bite sized pieces
1/2 lb. bacon, chopped and cooked until done but not crisp
1-2 jalapeno peppers, chopped
Serves:
Directions:
Brown ground beef with onions, green peppers and garlic; drain. Combine all ingredients in large Dutch oven or roaster pan. Bake at 350F for 1 hour.
NOTES: I used an additional can of home-style beans (3 total). I did not use garlic clove but generously seasoned the ground beef with garlic powder/salt/pepper when I was browning it. I omitted the green pepper (my own personal dislike). Next time I will use the entire 1 lb. package of bacon. I used white sugar because I did not have brown sugar on hand (oops!).
