Okay, I realize that I may have made this confusing. I posted what I had in my pantry/fridge/freezer before my 2 week meal plan used stuff up, so people were giving me recipes that included food items that would have been gone.

So, let's start again. I will take items off of my food list that will not be here by the time I need dinner suggestions.

Let me also repost the original challenge:

Okay...here's the deal...I really want to only buy milk and apples and carrots for dh's lunches next week. No meats or anything else. (Well, I am open to buying some pasta and maybe some sauce, but I'd really rather not.)

So, that means, I need to live off of what I have in my pantry and fridge. Not a problem for this week, but next week it starts to get sticky.

So, here's the deal. I am going to post the entire contents of my food pantry and my freezer/fridge. I am also going to post what I've come up with for a partial meal plan for the next two and a half weeks.

I'd like YOU to finish the meal plan for me, complete with a recipe for anything you suggest. Any extra ideas are a bonus, because I'm not sure how some of the meals I've planned are going to fly (for example, the night I have my dh eating ChefBoyardee overstuffed ravioli for dinner after a long day at work.)

Dh is willing to do just about anything in the name of frugality, however, he will not eat:

breakfast foods for dinner
soup and sandwiches for dinner

So, the person who is able to come up with the most feasible meals for my family to complete my meal plan for 5 nights will win a large potluck of coupons.

Oh, and desserts are not an issue. We have bananas or oranges for desset.

Anyone interested in giving it a shot? I'd appreciate it!!!

Oh, I see....there are planned leftover nights. Do you have plans for leftovers the THIRD night of porkchops?

Are the meatballs MADE of the sausage, or are you using both...meatballs *and* sausage?

How much hamburger were you going to use for the tater tot casserole?

Your DH will NOT, under *any* circumstances eat breakfast for dinner??

Can we wrench with your plan you've already made?

Questions, questions.  :)

It's funny, I ought to be doing this for *myself*, too.  :)

Jamee,

There are no pork chop leftovers. There are 4 chops per package, and we each eat one (not the baby of course, but the 4 of us who eat food :D )

I made meatballs from ground beef AND then cooked and cut up sausage separately. The meatballs and the sausage are now in the sauce in the fridge waiting to be eaten as leftovers on Wednesday night.

I'm using 1 lb of ground beef for the Tater Tot casserole as it is what the recipe calls for, and it's the only way it will feed all 4 of us. Dh and the two older kids are big eaters.

Dh will not, under any circumstances, eat breakfast food for dinner.

Yes. you may fool with the plan I have. That's fine, and yes, I need 4 more dinners. :)

I hope I've answered everything! :D

OK, here's my plan. :)

You need to buy potatoes. :) And, whatever pasta is in the HHelper....

One night you're making pork chops, use half & cut up into cubes or slices and fry with potatoes. You can fill alot of tummies with potatoes.

The night you're having tater tot casserole....use 1/2 lb of hamburger and 1 to 2 cups of cooked minute rice. That'll more than fill up for the missing hamurger. Add milk if too dry.

1 of 4 Then, HHelper with the other half of hamburger with more pasta added (and broth if too dry)

2 of 4 The other half of pork chops with stir fry with rice & canned mixed veggies & soy sauce to taste. Bread & butter.

3 of 4 Hot dogs & mac & cheese. Either mixed or use bread for the hotdogs. peas

4 of 4 Plain ol baked potatoes. Leftover broccoli if any. Make a cheese sauce if desired. green beans. blueberry muffins.

5 of 4 Plain ol' stirfry with NO meat. :)

Jamee...Have to admit ignorance here...I've never made stir-fry, with or without meat. We pretty much hate Chinese food...is it Chinese food-y? How do I go about it?

It doesn't *have* to be chinesey. :) You can flavor it with anything......chicken boullion, beef, spices. Could even be a casserole with rice, cheese, pork slivers :)D ) and the veggies. Make a cheese sauce out of a white sauce & add your slices or shredded cheese (I thought you had some...maybe you don't)

-OR- cream of mush soup, a little milk, spices (garlic onion) and the rice & veggies.

Sorry, Amy, I've looked at your list a couple of times and just can't come up with enough meat-less meals. My DH has to have meat in every meal, so most of my recipes/ideas include the need for you to purchase a couple of pounds of meat!

Jamee had some good ideas!

You now, amy, if you had cheese, you could make augratin potaotes & put the second half of the pork chops in it & bae it that way, too.....instead of the stir-fry or casserole

OR

The casserole could be with mashed potatoes on top....kind-of shepard's pie-ey. :)

I've had some more ideas, but I don't want to take them *all* up. :)

No challengers???? :fence:
