When I make veggie soup and it starts to run a little low in the pot and we still want more I add a box of cheap macronni to it. We love it and we get a few more servings from it.

(whispered) Teenagers. Their coming to your fridge. I have to freeze stuff if I want to save or stretch it. I add barley to mine or more veg. w/ another can of broth. Instant rice is good to.

Definitely great ideas. Canned stewed tomatoes are also a good stretcher, plus extra veggies.

:laugh: :laugh: I can't imagine feeding teens with this economy. You have to really stretch it when you cook it...or it vanishes!!!
