Post all Miserly Monday's here....

4/15 Happy Tax Day. Did you get any tax day freebies? Forgot all about it. I did see that QuikTrip has a free fountain drink today on their app. I'll stop there on my way home tonight.

Dgd spent the night last night. She loves staying and g-ma & papa's house. This morning we did some baking and played some games. I took her home and picked up their taxes to be mailed. It was easier for me to do it for them. Went to Five Below and picked up a couple of things for Easter baskets. Then picked up a loaf of bread that I forgot on Saturday.

Came home and counted my change for the week and added it to my puppy fund. I'm not ready for a puppy just yet, so I'm slowly saving toward it a penny at a time.

Maybe work on my flower boxes tonight. I haven't planted in them yet, because we keep getting freezing temps here and there at night.

On my way home I drove past Taco Bell and decided we were going to have taco tonight. Not eating out.

Made egg noodles/ham/eggs from leftover ham for dinner. I made a pumpkin pie as well. I'll pull it out now.

I wanted to go to the post office to mail stuff but DH said it was gonna be super crazy so wait until tomorrow. A extra day won't hurt.

My back has been such a pain. I bend a lot at work. I put a rub on it last night but walking/running doesn't help. I will put more rub on it soon, when DH wakes up. I don't wanna disturb him.

I have the donations truck scheduled to pick up next week. I'll put it all in a bag tonight.

DS2 will be done with school soon and will take a summer class. The class will be at the university and not at the community college. To the tune of $1500+fees. Yowza. I wish the community college had the class as it's way cheaper to go there....

4/22 Stayed home all day. Dgd spent the night on Sunday and spent the day with us.

We got the lawn mowed.

Took the dog to the vet. He said he could go anytime. He's old, just turned 12. Is overweight, has dementia and basically blind. He has separation anxiety as well. Barks for no reason at night. We're just preparing ourselves for the time we need to let him go. He was a rescue, sort of. He lived about 1/2 mile from us and would run away and show up at our house. We eventually got to keep him. It's a sad story. But he's had a good 7 years with us.

4/29 Dreary looking day here. Rained last night and more rain this whole week. One dog didn't do well. Gave him an anxiety pill too late and now he's going to sleep all day. Need to give it earlier in the evening.

Dgd spent the night. She's in need of a lot of attention. She's gets lots of it here. Not doing well with a little sister.

I'll take her home later and stop and the library if my books are ready. Then get some dog food and dog treats, milk and crayons. Sent mine home with dgd over the weekend.

Finish cleaning the kitchen. I don't know what happens over the weekend that I have so many dishes and big pots that don't fit in the dishwasher. Every Monday morning it's the same thing. I really want to clean my sewing room. It's such a mess. It becomes the dumping room for everything. I'm making a box for donations. There are toys that no one plays with that we picked up at a garage sale. Time to get them out of here. I need to get the room cleaned up so I can make a couple of quilts. I wanted to do them for last Christmas but didn't get it done. Hopefully this year. I'm just too overwhelmed by everything.

We finally got finished at the inlaws, but they said they weren't going to move there. So dh took his dad down to have a look. He really liked it, but asked that the kitchen be completely cleaned and a few other safety things, like a door so no one tries to go upstairs, before they move in. So tonight it's back to working on the house. Someone else needs to do the cleaning. We'll do the other work.

One of the dogs peed on the floor again. It needs a good cleaning. Dh says it's time to replace it. Not yet. Need to for a couple of the dogs to go to there home first.

it is hard when pets get older. my mom has one cat who is now kinda deaf blind and some dementia but he is like 100 in people years so he is doing good for his age. my mom says she will sell the house when a couple of the senior cats go but I know she will just foster more of them.

5/6 So far it's been a nice sunny day. Storms coming in tonight. Hopefully we can get the front lawn mowed before then.

Not feeling 100% today. Was up most of the night with acid reflux and then a stomach ache. Slept off and on until noon. The phone kept ringing, all scam calls and then messenger kept going off. Guess I should have turned the phone off.

I need to go to the bank to make a deposit. Then pay a credit card we had to use, because the inlaws card wouldn't work. Got reimbursed.

Not sure what we'll have for dinner. I'm feeling like a nice calm soup. I think I have some chicken noodle in the pantry. That might be what I have. Dh can have the taco leftovers or whatever he feels like.

5/13 It's nice to see the sun again. It rained off and on all day yesterday.

Went to the store this morning. Didn't make it all weekend and needed to stock up on fresh fruits and veggies.

Tonight we're going to ds' house for a visit.

Finally got the inlaws moved in. Still a few little things to do like replace the mini blinds, and get a closet cleaned out. Except for a couple of small things, we (me and dh) are done. The rest is on the other siblings. Time to focus on our house now.

I've got laundry started. After I make a fruit tray for tonight, I'll tackle the kitchen. Dh wanted a made from scratch cake and it just took too much time, and dirtied way too many bowls/pans, etc. Then there was monther's day dinner. Yes I had to cook my own dinner. Lots of dishes and big pans, so not everything fit in the dishwasher.

I need to make some new hummingbird water. I have two feeders and they only use one, so I went back and bought another red one. I didn't realized they would be so picky. The other is blue. They fly up to it and then go to the other one. I thought the blue one was pretty.

Dinner tonight will be leftover turkey dinner from yesterday.

5/20 Trying to enjoy some dry weather today. Rain begins and will last for a week. They are saying 8-10 inches over the next week.

Going to fold laundry today. I have a few loads from the weekend to fold and put away.

Should be a quiet week. Ds is off, so dgd should be happy staying home with daddy this week. I'll miss her though.

I probably should run to the store for fruit. I didn't go grocery shopping on Friday. It was my birthday and I went to see a movie and then just took it easy the rest of the day.

I'm thinking grilled pork chops for dinner.

6/10 Today is a nice sunny, cooler day. Maybe I'll get outside and do some yard work.

I am going to start a load of laundry here in a bit.

Have a package to get ready to send back to Amazon. Will run that up to the UPS store. I would like to look for a new purse and wallet. I'd like to downsize. It seems to get heavier everyday and there isn't much in there. The one I have is just too bulky. I'll see if they have any sales first. Need to pick up a couple of gift cards for my parents for father's day and a birthday.

Tonight's dinner will be grilled pork chops.

I wasn't miserly today at all. I worked and hoped not to be hungry but nope. Had to buy stuff to eat. DS2 said he wanted shampoo and I needed mouthwash so I picked up some organic stuff on sale and whatnot. ::sigh::Spent more than I had hoped.
I have to finish pulling weeds and cutting down the flower stalks in the rock garden. I trimmed around the front yard tree.

6/17 It's a cloudy start to the week. From what I saw, it looks like there is a chance for rain every day. It is so humid right now. There is so much to do in the yard. It's just too humid. We can't breath out there.

Dgd spent the night. They got home late from visiting her other grandparents, so to give daddy a chance to get some rest before going back to work, she stayed with us. Didn't go to sleep until 2am. I didn't have a good night, so I'm slow going today.

I made a to-do list yesterday. Every little thing went on the list. Sometimes I'm more motivated to get things done when I have a list and can check off even the littlest thing. Kinda like a debt snowball.

I still need to pick up some dirt for my veggies. Never got to that. Also need to return a bird feeder the hummingbirds didn't like. That will pay for my dirt. That is the main thing I have planned for today. Then I'll see what else I can check off my list.

We had so many leftovers from the weekend, we didn't eat all of our planned Father's day dinner. We just ate the crab legs last night, so I think we'll grill the steaks tonight.

6/24 So happy to see the sun. It rained so much over the past couple of days. My dgd has one of those water play tables. It was empty on Friday and overflowing yesterday. So much rain. The river is high and one of the new neighborhoods, the road was completely under water. I don't think they planned for excessive amounts of rain. It has little retention ponds, water feature, whatever they want to call it and it had overflowed into the street, making impassible.

Today, I'm going to try and knock a few things off my to-do list. Dgd wanted a my little pony pillow, so I bought some fabric and will make a couple of pillow cases for her. Much cheaper than buying them. I just washed the fabric and need to iron it.

I have a stack of papers to shred and a computer desk to start cleaning off. We bought a desk from craigslist for $75 it has one corner that is damaged. It is still in the box. New it was $275. Need to clean up this area and get it ready. Ds was able to pick up a new king size mattress for $150. This guy goes to auctions and buys unclaimed freight and sells it. It's a nice mattress too. Name brand.

I'll also plant my pepper plant and two flowers I got. Picked up a citronella plant too. Tonight dh wants to hang the privacy screen we bought for the deck. We had attached some landscape fabric to see if that would work, but the wind blew it off. I just don't like the neighbor looking at us. I think he's a creeper. When I pulled the fabric off, I can't wait to get the screen up. That way I don't have to look at the neighbor's nasty yard. She does nothing to keep it up. I think she has a couple of druggies come mow every couple of weeks and that's all they do. The last neighbor had beautiful flower beds, now they are overgrown with weeds and looks horrible. We are going to have to go and do some trimming because it's starting to grow into our yard. I'd call the city, but I'm sure they'd find something to write me up on and then the other neighbors too and I don't want to do that. I keep thinking that if we clean up, maybe she'll get the hint, but I doubt it. Why would you buy a house if you have no plans to keep up the yard?

Tonight we are going to dinner with some friends. We paid last time (about 3 years ago). They haven't forgotten and want to take us out.

7/8 I haven't been on in about a week. We took the computer down. So much stuff. Put the new desk together, which took way longer than we thought. It's good to be back on. I have a tablet, but it makes my neck hurt when I use it too much.

Today, I am returning an unripe watermelon to Sams. Then returning some corner shelves I bought. We decided on something different for the area around the computer. The shelves were for a couple of plants I have. They will sit on top of the cabinet we are getting.

Then to walmart market and aldi. I don't think I want to shop at a regular walmart right now. I don't want people licking my food. The WM market is mostly older people and not all the trouble makers.

It was a good week. Dgd came over every day. Spent the night a couple of nights. Swam in the pool with her cousins who were staying with their grandma. They had a lot of fun and I was soaked from all the splashing.

Dinner tonight will be grilled steaks and rice.

7/15 It should be a nice day today. I think the temps are supposed to be a bit lower today. Tonight dh will mow and weed eat after work.

I still have a couple of blankets to wash. The really big one that doesn't really fit and takes at least 3 cycles to dry. The other blanket isn't a rush. Dh wants a new blanket just like the big one, except not as thick. There were three levels when we bought this one and he's wants the lighter one. Kohls has it and I can get for a decent price. May go there today to get it.

Also have a couple of loads to fold and put away. I don't know how two people generate so much laundry. I really only do laundry every 7-10 days, so I guess that's where it is.

I may stop off and pick up some more fresh veggies today. I'll see what I have first and may wait until the new ads come out on Wednesday.

Dinner tonight will be pork chops and veggies. Trying to eat more healthy. Time to get serious.

It's a beautiful day here. Nice and sunny and cooler temps.

Today I need to drop a package at UPS and then put gas in the van. Dsisinlaw will be using it for a couple of days. THe other car is in use by out of towners, so we'll lend her ours until they leave.

I do have laundry to do and I need to clean the kitchen. dgd decided we were having pizza and I didn't get it all cleaned up. Just too tired.

We did get some more organizing done in the dining room. The house is starting to look a lot less cluttered. Oh yeah, I need to get some new cubby baskets for the living room. We decided we want them to all match instead of half cloth baskets and half plastic. It will look a little cleaner if we do that.

Need to get ds' room cleaned out. Everything from the computer area went in his room. We need to finish dumping and putting away that stuff.

Dinner tonight, not sure. Since we need to run this van up we may not have time for a dinner at home. May stop with dh's brother for a bite. I should have time to fix something here, but whether dh has time to eat is another story. If I do cook, it looks like pork chops again. We've been doing well with not eating out and eating more healthy.

7/29 Nice weather again. But a chance of rain later in the week.

It has been a busy few days. Ds came in for a visit. Will be here a week. We were running around trying to get everything cleaned up and ready for him. We got the carpet squares up in his room and cleaned the floor and then I got some throw rungs for his floor. Looked great.

But then I got sick. I had chills almost every night and then it hit big time on Saturday. I think I was just doing too much and not getting enough rest. I feel okay today, but I'm still week. Haven't really eaten much just trying to drink plenty of water. Slept til noon today. I was awake a few times this morning, but fell asleep again. It's what I needed. Not sure if it's the flu, stomach flu or food poisoning. I think I can rule out food poisoning, since no one else is sick.

Not sure what we'll do for dinner, I know I'm not up to cooking. It'll be fend for yourself or we'll get pizza or chicken.

8/12 It's going to be a hot one today.

I have a couple loads of laundry to fold and put away. I also need to iron one of dh's work shirts. He keeps a nice shirt at work for meetings.

I also need to run to the store for more fruit. It wasn't very good on Friday. Hopefully I'll find something at a different store.

Dh has to make an airport run. We have two family members leaving about the same time today.

I'll run dgd to her lesson tonight. Then will take dinner to her mommy and sister.

Stayed home today and no money spent. Spent day napping, balancing a months worth of checkbook. Will pay bills when headache lets up.

Would love to have an evening of TV and mindless drivel then early bed. So tired of not sleeping and knee pain. Ortho doctor the 20th.

Not such a miserly day today. I needed to get a few things for the chicken coop and a few groceries. I think my son went grocery shopping in my kitchen.

I finished rolling my coins last night and have almost $200. When it hits $200 I will put it in my savings account. If I cleaned the coins out of the cars I could probably do that tonight, but not when the heat index is over 100 outside. Its completely miserable here.
