Mushroom Rice Burger Helper


Recipe Description
An inexpensive, quick, but very tasty main dish.
(Usually under $3.00 to make)
To make a complete meal, serve with a large leafy garden salad.​
Preparation Steps:
Cook 1 cup of rice in two cups water and a pinch of salt.
Gather, measure out, and prep all other ingredients.​
Level of Difficulty:
Easy​
Time Needed:
30 min.​
Ingredients:
*1/2 - 3/4 lb. ground meat-(your choice)
*1 1/2 -2 cups cooked rice
*1 can cream of mushroom soup, or homemade equivalent
*3/4 cup sliced fresh mushrooms or (1) 4 oz. can-drained
* s & p to taste
*1 tbsp dried parsley
*1 med diced onion
*1-2 cloves minced garlic
*1 tbsp ground meat seasoning or beef bouillon - granulated​
Serves:
5-6​
Directions:
In a large heavy bottomed skillet, cook ground beef, garlic, and onions on medium heat. (Make sure you don't scorch ingredients or the whole dish will be bitter)
After about 5-6 minutes, add mushrooms.
When ground meat is no longer pink, add all other ingredients.
Cook for 10-15 more minutes and serve with salad and fresh bread or toast.

I've made this dish with fresh mushrooms and canned...my family liked both, but preferred it with the fresh ones, and I felt better using the fresh ones also. I like to use fresh produce whenever possible.:chef:
