I took my 11 month great nephew to get his picture taken (surprise
for his mom and dad who are still on their honeymoon). He was an
angel all day, and smiled so good for the camera.

Then we ate lunch at Steak-N-Shake- yummy!

My mom went with me and we got flowers for the cemetary sites and
took them there. My grandparents had no flowers on their grave
sites, so I was glad we took them today- it sure brightened it up
when we were done and my mom was pleased.

After that- mom got to talking about all the people she remembered
and where they had lived and so on- so we took a nice little drive
through 3 of the little towns around us, through the country (went
by the house where I used to live and such).

Just a really nice day with my mom- reminicing.

What a wonderful day, Denise. My Aunt Alma is 89 years old, and I love to drive up with my kids when I can and have a visit with her. She has a rich memory of our family's history, and tells wonderful stories of growing up in the depression era - fascinating.

My kids and I will be taking a trip to the cemetary tomorrow in the little town where my parents are buried - we all work to brighten up their grave area and make it look pretty, and then usually take a tour through the small town I grew up in - it's comforting to see how much it stays the same as the years pass.

Just adding a couple more things

My youngest 2 started work at the berry patch today- for my dd it's the first job she's had where she'll get a paycheck.

And my oldest got his semester grades - one A, and one C- not too bad for a kid who didn't think he was college material.
