I've gotten so off track lately that I find it hard finding my way back on the frugal road.

So, I'm gonna challenge myself today to:

1. Check my food stamp balance to see what I have to work with

2. Write down a list of foods that are corn based I may need or other cheap meals for the month

3. Check cupboards and fridge to see what meals I have here to eat first

4. Look for frugal [non-fat if possile] recipes to make bread/rolls

5. Look for bean recipes [lima, northern and so forth.]

Wish me luck! :)

Looks good, Jen! Keep up the good work:

FYI: I know corn is cheaper, but it's not always the healthiest. Better to look for things based on whole wheat rather than corn. But if you can't afford it, there's not much you can do, I undestand that.

Hi!

Earthymom, I don't know if I like lentils [have never had them!]

Thanks so much for the link - I'll check it out and see what I can find. :)

I went to Walmart this afternoon and bought like 6 bags of beans [all different kinds] so it looks like I'll be eating lots of beans in the future.

LadyNada, I didn't know that corn based wasn't good for a person.

How is it not good ... just curious?

I've got way high cholesterol and also have to be very careful of my fat intake, would it [corn] have anything to do with those?

Love,

Jen
