I have moved a couple houses down from a young couple. The man drives a milk truck, and is gone M-F, but for short hour stops at home on M and W.
Well his wife is at her wits end trying to fit all their stuff into their small home. So I am helping her clean, declutter and organize.
Well she has decided to give me a dish hutch, because she has inherited 2 or 3 more and has no room for them all.
She is going to see if her brother will let me have her moms sewing machines because she and her sil do not sew.
She sent me home today with a quart of buttermilk, 3 gallons of 2% and 2.5 gallons of chocolate! Plus 3 things of ranch dip, which dh loves!
On top of that, I have a box of goodies, including a cast iron welcome sign, RED lady bugs on it make it perfect for my kitchen!
A caller id box for the phone we just turned on today, glass bathroom shelves, 3 metal pencil holders, perfect for dhs desk, a hanging thing to roll wash rags in, a gilt mirror, and I forget what all else!
Plus she has offered me a coffee table and 2 in tables. Then out of the blue today her dh said he would sell me their pick up if we want it (we do need a 2nd vehicle)!
The big bonus is, I get to play with a 6 month old without having to have more kids! I also have a RL friend I can talk to at night when dh is gone and I am tired of teen chatter!
