I filed forms with our bank today to contest an unknown charge on our debit account. I was looking over the monthly statement as usual, even though nothing is ever wrong with it, when I spotted a $53 charge I didn't remember making. We were on vacation, I remember the evening pretty clearly, we picked up event tickets we had paid for in advance. They put $53 on my husband's card.

The tickets were completely paid in advance, there should have been NO extra fees, certainly not for $53!

I've called a couple different numbers for the company and keep getting voice mail. Nobody has ever returned any of the calls I made. So I took it to the bank.

Now it's a matter of wait and see.

Keep checking those monthly statements!

Good catch! I always always look at my bank account online and balance it several times a month.

I had to do that with a charge from Sonic once. I went by myself and the cashier charged another order to my card (over $15.00). I heard she was later fired, and I got my money back.

I had a $7 charge a few months ago, but my credit union said the procedure involved filing a police report that would cost $10. I have just been watching very close since then and have had no problems.

We had a problem a while back with strange amounts missing from our savings account. 5.34, 6.73 ect. Just smalla mounts that you probably wouldn't notice if you didn't check. We have a mac card that can only be used at a mac machine so the odd amounts can't be taken out of there. Even the ATM charges are round number. My dh went to the bank and asked about the charges, of course it had to be us not the bank. Funny the charges disappearred after that.. That little bit adds up in a month.
