DH and I are going to the other side today and among other things, are thinking about going to a movie!! Shocker as it was his idea and we've already seen our one movie for the year!!

So, I would really appreciate your opinion on what movie you would choose from the following:

Avatar
The Spy Next Door
Legion
Edge of Darkness
Percy Jackson & the Olympians The Lightning Thief
The Wolfman
The Book of Eli

Avatar is a visually stunning piece of dung. My choice would be for Percy Jackson - that at least looks fun - as opposed to visually stunning while beating you over the head with about a dozen preachy cliche concepts.

Yes, Avatar is pretty, but it was really like Pocahontas meets Dinotopia meets Fern Gully...
I've also seen the Book of Eli. It's like all of the other post-apocalyptic movies, like The Road, but it's Denzel Washington, and the end is REALLY good.

I would go for one of these. They look like good stories.

Greebo's assessment of Avatar is too kind. I thought the graphics were merely average by today's standards, but maybe that's because I am used to seeing that sort of thing in computer games. But if looking at alien ferns in 3d excites you, go for it.
