Ok, ladies...Everything i've read on frugality emphasizes awareness as the key. We all use this WONDERFUL site to post our progress, support each other and learn new tools to help us be frugal. I'm so thankful that Sara created and keeps it going!

Here is my challenge to you all! Keep a daily (written) journal of ALL the teeny tiny little things you do that help you meet your goals of frugality.

You can post your accomplishments in this thread!

Sometimes it feels like you're getting nowhere and a journal would keep track of ALL you have accomplished...It's proof that you are working toward your goal ! It doesn't matter how small the action was...Eventually, they add up! Post it!

Graci's Accomplishments for 2-15

1. swept with a broom rather than the vaccuum
2. Washed and dried clothes consecutively
3. Used 1/2 detergent called for
4. Turn off lights when not needed
5. Used "frozen Assets" to make Calzones from scratch
6. limited PC time
7. Change jar challenge and change scavenger hunt...LOL

I like that idea too.

Today I:

*Washed clothes with 1/2 detergent called for.
*Took advantage of Walgreen's FREE AFTER REBATE items, plus used coupons.
*Used FREE $5 Shell gas card to put gas in the car.

I used the drying rack instead of drying clothes in the dryer....I am taking my lunch to work and I will be donating some stuff to the salvation army as well....

I am also making a shopping list for this eve after work....using the loss leaders and not buying junk!!

Great idea!

1. I made my own bread crumbs from drying end of my regular bread, used the food processor and added some herbs.

2. Resisted the urge to shop. LOL.

3. Ate left overs for lunch,

4. Turned off all lights before sleeping.

Not to bad, Will try to improve

Yesterday (2/17) I shovelled snow all day instead of paying someone else to do so (dh did too!)

Today: 2/18
Made lunches
washed in cold w/ 1/2 recommended detergent ran washer after 10 pm

used duster rather than furniture polish
Stayed off the pc until 9:27...lol
turned on the radio rather than allow TV and VCR for kids
light off
unused rooms shut off
Thermostat at 65
unplugged microwave
turned off main plug outlet (power bar for appliances)

Resisted temptation to buy that little itty bitty candy bar at work...LOLOLOL

Used grocery bags for "trash bags"
cleaned the lint filter on the dryer
Used Windshield wiper fluid instead of Windex on my TV's, window, etc...It only costs $0.75 for a gal! Works great!

Used the 2nd half of the hair dye I split (before mixing) to do my "roots".

hmmmm...think I got it all!

pack lunches for a.m. (4 lunches)
planned grocery list by loss leaders and coupons
inventoried my pantry
the rest of my usual stuff...refer to first post...LOLOLOL
avoided the c.b. (candy bar) temptation once more
drank more water rather than soda

**I'm rather proud of my self on the soda bit...I haven't drank soda regularly for about 3 months now...probably 3 soda's in as many weeks!**

Have a good day!

i have taken my lunch everyday to school since jan13 instead of buying and only get tea(65cents) it s my treat..
i also bring a bottle of water to drink
avoid the vending machine like the plage(a candy bar is 75cents and lg coffee is 95 ,which taste like crap)

only got 13 for new jeans(off clerance rack) really needed them as i had only one..

use 1\2 laundry soap,and 1\3 dryer sheet
always shop with coupons and look for lost leaders

buy gas at the cheaper station..1.49 for reg vs1.59 or so.

2/20:my usual plus --

filled car at 1.56 rather than 1.66
groc. shop...HUGE MEAT SALE!!
Repackaged meats for freezer

2/21: my usual

decided to wait to finish groc. shopping until tomorrow after work...save gas and milage...LOL...besides I'm tired!

Finished seperating chicken...Used bread bags I'd saved AND instead of tieing them in a knot, I used rubberbands (bulk bag) bought at a thrift shop...knew they'd come in hand one day! Bread ties would work, too!

Hope everyone had a great day!!
