Hello everyone!

I learned about this community when reading the Index Card. These past few months I have become aware of how I've been slipping into the trap of overconsumption, and been more conscious of its heavy promotion to everyone through social media, and pretty much in all angles of our lives. I've realized how much I'm spending on immediate gratification, and how I'm contributing and impacting Mother Earth. I've since then worked on changing my buying habits and invest in quality, long lasting products. I am working my frugal muscle everyday trying to get better, at times the temptation is tough but I just have to keep being present in my decisions, and as it turns out, I am much happier without all the "clutter" in my life.

On another note, I absolutely love traveling, exploring different cultures, foods, traditions, meeting new people, taking walks, cycling, photography... I enjoy pretty much anything artistic, creative, and diverse... my greatest peace is sitting in the calm of nature and just appreciating the beauty.

Welcome!

I know what you mean about overconsumption and the media. To quote a very old movie " advertising makes people who can't afford it, buy things they don't want, with money they haven't got. "
