I definitely need to spend less in 2023, but a no-spend year is unrealistic with three kids to feed. I would appreciate any tips and advice to live frugally this year, though! Maybe a no-spend week/month here and there?

I do this as any unneeded/unbudgeted spending. We all have to spend to keep the lights on and our bellies full no sense in punishing ourselves for that. However, if I lose my mind at the grocery store then I do count that because I know the grocery store is one of the areas where I habitually overspend.

I far this year I've had one spend day - I bought a 2023 planner, impulse buy.

Hmm…not sure how to do this as self-employed. I think I won’t count business expenses, but I will count household expenses.

So far a no spend January there. We have only purchased groceries twice. This time I included a food thermometer for the air fryer my kids gave me for Christmas. I won’t know if that’s a necessity or not until I use the air fryer. But the lady in the YouTube video insisted we need one?!
