Cream cheese, seafood sauce, ripe olives, and surimi all bought on sale and made into a dip, served on Triscuits and Breton crackers from the clearance cart. Very frugal and tasty. And maybe some house-brand pop bought on sale. Very exciting stuff. And healthy, too!

I don't know! I asked Dh what he wants & he said "Something good" Well ok, lol. I'm thinking...Happy hour will be some of that cheese, sausage & crackers a secret santa sent ( :smooch: to the mystery person, it was addressed to hubby so maybe an old co-worker? How nice of them!)and I'll have to get back to you on dinner. :toothy:

We're having family over tonight and we will have a simple meal of meatballs, mashed potatoes (the good kind made with sour cream and cream cheese - low fat of course haha), caesar salad, garlic bread and a veggie tray with dip. Something we can serve and eat on the couch with while we watch movies etc.

This is the first year that we're going to let our four youngest try to stay up (ok, well, maybe not the baby, but the three youngest boys, anyway!)

We're having broiled salmon filet, crab claws, garlic butter shrimp, scalloped potatoes and broccoli. I may or may not make a cheesecake, depending on how long everything else takes and the shopping I have to do to get ready!

Happy New Year FV'ers!

I bought some shrimp and made some cocktail sauce ---ketchup + horseradish (dash of hot sauce if you like it smokin hot).

Made a bean dip and a seafood dip, and we still have crackers and stuff left from Christmas.

Made up a meat and cheese tray, small.

Some cut up fresh veggies w/ ranch dip.

Some sweet things---pound cake, brownies, etc.

And some champagne for midnight......:dancing:

We do a family party on NYE. We have "party nachos" (nachos like you get in a restaurant with everything on them), sodapop (major treat), and homemade sundaes. We sit and watch movies until the ball drops, then we go to bed.

Ours is:
Fresh Bruschetta - with Mozz
Stuffed Mushrooms
Steak - for Mom, Brother and Sister( I don't really like red meat so I have opted for just the veggie stuff)

DD is having pizza at the gym - she has a sleepover... 30 gymnasts YUCK - they won't get much sleep lol

Me and Mom are the only ones staying home... so I plan on being in bed by 10! I haven't stayed up for a New Years Eve since I started working retail.... which BTW is why I don't enjoy holidays anymore... which is why one of my goals is to quit my job by next October (ahhh one of my 20 wishes!)

Bring on 2012!
