I have not shopped at Aldi's for years now and I decided to go there when DH announced that he wanted a nice steak and shrimp dinner last night. I had a couple of nice sizzlers in the freezer that I purchased from the farm and I planned on making the shrimp, baked yukons and a nice pasta salad and some dinner salads too. Just like the rest of you here I am so discouraged by all of the rising food costs so I decided to go to Aldi's and shop for this meal. I was just thrilled when I left the store with a box full of everything that I needed for this meal and it cost $25.63!! That included a one pound bag of extra large jumbo shrimp for $6.99! I also got a 5lb bage of Yukons, 3 large squash, 3 pack green peppers, 8oz imported havariti/jalepeano cheese, sour cream, 1 lb butter, 8oz cream cheese, a bag of peppercorn/ranch potato chipsand a jar of minced garlic. I was so pleased and have decided to do more of my shopping at Aldi's! I know that it is not organic but have decided to compromise on some of my food purchases from now on. It's just too darn expensive to keep shelling out the $$$$ on all organic! Had I purchased all of this as organic at one of our local Meijer's or health food stores I would have spent a small fortune!

I have also decided that I am going to enjoy some cooked food meals this summer on the grill. I am going to do 50-50 with raw and cooked. This is really my favorite time of the year when it comes to the food that I enjoy so by golly I am going to do just that!

The only downside to this is that Aldi's is only two miles from our summer place here and it is 17 miles to the nearest Aldi's from our home. Everything ia so far away when at home!

Great Meal, I'll have to consider buying shrimp at Aldi. I don't usually buy anything but canned goods and baking supplies when I am there.

Wow you got some fantastic deals! I'd love to buy those things from my grocery store and compare. I know it would be a heck of a lot more

I think if alot more people started shopping at Aldi's they too would see a big difference in their food bills. I would rather drive 8 miles to spends $50 on groceries than drive 3 miles and end up paying 2x that.JMO

I love aldi's and shop there all the time! I find that I get better deals there then at the regular stores. I live in a smaller town where nobody doubles coupons and the coupons we do get in the Sunday paper are a joke. You get maybe 4 food coupons and the rest are ads for coins, ugly nightshirts, figurines, and other non food items. I think most of the town shops there.

We love our Aldis. I also love that it's right next to Walmart so everytime I shop Aldi I think -HAHA! Another day spending my cash at Aldi and NOT Walmart. I think I've been to Walmart only once this whole year to get a tv converter box that I couldn't find elsewhere.

Great deal, Countrybumpkin...... We love our aldi's ...... there have been very few things we have not liked, but I try to do as much as possible there.....I think their produce is great, yes, you do have to watch things like potatoes, and onions, but most everything else is good. Their fresh salsa in the coolers taste WONDERFUL, just as good as the Mexican restaurant......you just can't beat Aldi's......

Ugh I wish our Aldi's was that close. I have to drive a good hr either way. It's worth it though usually as the only other option is super Walmart.

That's funny what somebody said about the coffee. My mom and step dad love the coffee and often ask me to get them some when I go! I don't drink coffee, so I cannot say one way or the other.

Aldi's is the bomb diggity. I do a good stock up there once a month and just use the other stores for things I can't get there.

OK, I REALLY Like Aldi's!!

We love our local Aldi's. Since they changed management their produce is comparable to the Krogers or Ingles.

I love Aldi's! That's where I do the majority of my shopping. My last two visits there I picked up some of their 80/20 ground beef (large package for $4.09) and it was DELICIOUS. It went far too-a meatloaf, pot o' chili, and some chili sauce for hotdogs..I have noticed though that their prices are slowly creeping up but still cheaper than most of the other supermarkets around here. Still can't beat the prices on their pasta's, cereals' and canned goods. Good news is the Aldi's is only 10 minutes from my house and another one is being built even closer! WOOHOO!!!
