...for someone who has knit scarves & dishcloths? I can knit & purl, and that's about it. I've never tried circular needles or DPN's.

I need something new to try.

Recommendations?

That's funny--it's the same pattern as the very first dishcloth I ever finished, on a much larger scale of course. I think I even posted a pic of it in my gallery here.

Shawls might be a good one. Socks or mittens are good too.
there are some mittens that can be knitted flat than sewn together

Yep that's it! I like the fringe. Love using the big needles. I'm knitting socks tonigh:knit:t.

You could try your hand at cables. They aren't as scary as they look

How about a hat? That'll give you a grip on circular needles or double-points.

Just seeing this now...I haven't picked out a project yet because things have been a bit :screwy: lately. I'll need to buy supplies for whatever I make, so that's also holding me up.
