OMG - I have cancer

I had an abnormal pap smear a couple of weeks ago, doc did a biopsy. I got the results a couple of days ago - CERVICAL CANCER!!! I'm scared to death. I have to go next Wednesday for a more involved biopsy to see what stage the cancer is in to know where to go from here. I'm so scared. I've cried for three days. All I can think about are my babies - they need their mommy. My doctor says he is pretty sure we've caught it early and, if so, he can do a hysterectomy and I will be 100% cured. I'm clinging to those words.

I have been through this myself- when I was pregnant with my second child, 20 years ago. If caught early, cervical cancer is almost 100% curable. Very, very good reason to have your pap smears every year ladies!! Mine was a stage 3, and we waited until the baby was born, then they froze my cervix, killing all the cancer cells. I had to have checkups and pap smears every 6 months afterwards, and everything turned out fine- I even had a 3rd child! I'll be thinking about you, please pm me if you need to talk!!
