OMG - I have cancer

3367 Views 47 Replies 46 Participants Last post by  Miss Kitty
I had an abnormal pap smear a couple of weeks ago, doc did a biopsy. I got the results a couple of days ago - CERVICAL CANCER!!! I'm scared to death. I have to go next Wednesday for a more involved biopsy to see what stage the cancer is in to know where to go from here. I'm so scared. I've cried for three days. All I can think about are my babies - they need their mommy. My doctor says he is pretty sure we've caught it early and, if so, he can do a hysterectomy and I will be 100% cured. I'm clinging to those words.

PLEASE pray.

We'll be praying for you too !
You are in my thoughts and prayers :hugz:
Take one day at a time, Tater and I will pray for you, too. I recently had an abnormal pap and biopsy done. I understand the fears. I will need to have a pap every 6 months from now until doc says different.

There are a lot of different options. If the doc caught it early, a full hystorectomy may NOT be necessary. look at your options and ASK QUESTIONS!! In the end, you are the one who must make decisions. If necessary ask for a second opinion!!
That is definitly the scariest news any woman can hear. We will all be praying for the best.:grouphug:

I'm so glad it's curable....sending prayers.
Thank you all for your support and prayers. It really helps knowing I'm not alone.

Nealy - you're right. I'm having a cone biopsy this Wednesday to get more specific info on what stage the cancer is in. My doc says I'm looking at a hysterectomy either way, whether its early or more advanced. I'm through having children, and he wants to be sure he gets it all if he can.

I'll keep everyone posted. Thanks again for being such great friends.
You are in my thoughts and prayers tater. Big hugs to you.
I'm so sorry you're going through this. My mom had a hysterectomy because of cevical cancer nine years ago. She has been healthy and cancer free since than. I remember how scary it was for her. Please remember that you have many friends here who have you in their thoughts and prayers. Take care :hugz:
Sending you hugs and prayers.
