ok, i just made this. used whole wheat pasta so doubled the sauce. i accidentally used twice the milk whoops. it's runny but has a good flavor.

i am tempted to try it with olive oil and garlic, with carefully washed, chopped wilted kale or spinach dumped in. maybe some cooked bacon.

~This recipe sounds just like one I use for angel hair pasta. It's spectacular with grilled shrimp!
You inspired me to post my recipe for an orzo side dish, Darlene. Mine is a bit different.~

I finally remembered to buy Orzo at the store today. I wanted to make it for tonight, but we're having tacos, so I'm thinking I should wait for another meal.

Ya, it doesn't really "go" with tacos, lol. :thumb:

I make pasta like this all the time, except no milk, and olive oil instead of butter. Last night I made linguine w/clam sauce. Pretty much the same as your recipe, but besides the 2 cans of chopped clams, you add oregano, basil, and parsley, along with a dash of red pepper flakes. Oh so good!

I have 2 boxes of orzo that I look forward to using with your recipe. It really does sound so good!

Thanks!!
Theresa :)

Thanks for the tip lisaflex, bet it gives it a nice nutty taste. :cool2: I toast it when I make homemade "rice-a roni" just never thought to do it with this.
Love your ideas too Mamamia! :thanks:

Tried this tonight...really good!
The only thing I tweeked, was to add about 1/3 minced/diced onions with the garlic.
It was truly fantastic with my Chicken Piccata.
Thanks for sharing this recipe-it's in my "keeper" files.
