I know there is a lot of good cooks here at fv has anyone every used black walnuts kernels instead of pecans in baking pumpkin bread? And if so was it as good? Thanks in advance.

If you like the taste of the nuts you use, you should be able to use any nut you want. They're pretty much interchangeable.

Walnuts were more common then pecans in pumpkin bread where i live.

Oh My Gosh did you bring back some memories!! We use to use black walnuts in our pumpkin and banana bread, oh yum, it was so good!!

If you like black walnuts you will love the bread.

I use walnuts in my Pumpkin Bread recipe most of the time, and they taste great!
