Ingredients:Pinto Beans, canola oil, garlic, onion salt
Serves:10+ cans
Directions:I purchased a 4 pound bag of dry pinto beans, soaked overnight, simmered for 2 hours, strained. In a large frying pan, I put in 1/4 cup of canola oil, minced onion, garlic and sauteed. I added 1/4 of the beans then mashed w/potato masher. I added about a cup of water to each batch. I added salt and cumin. The 4 pound bag yielded 150 ounces (about 10 cans) I put them in single and family size portions in the freezer.
These are so good when compared to canned. I will save about $12.00.
