I just got done doing the dishes. I let them wait a little bit. They were from yesterday afternoon and evening and this morning. I soaked some of them overnight. My dishwasher is on the fritz. Hubby has not had a chance to work on it since all his spare time has been working on his car. I thought this would also give me a chance to see if maybe it is cheaper to do them by hand. Well now for the joy part. I have a window over my sink., it looks out into the wooded part of our land. We have almost 6 ac of land and most of it in pine trees. They are sparce by I love it! We moved here 6 yrs ago and haven't seen much wildlife. As I was doing the dishes these 2 squirrels were climbing all over our gazebo out back(just a side note my hubby built the gazbo from the wood we have out back; I just love it it's very rustic).Well I got so excited that a big small came upon my face. They were just as cute as cute can be. It made washing the dishes a joy just to be able to see them. I do hope they come back! Enjoy your day!!!!

I have always lived in a house with a window at the sink. As a child we had to wash dishes. I do have a dish washer, but I don't use it much. I don't mind washing dishes. I do it deliberatly. My time washing dishes by hand is quiet time for me. We do have alot of wildlife and we live on 10 acres and I can just watch the deer saunter by. Washing dishes by hand is good for the soul..Blessings..kathy

I have a dishwasher, but it isn't hooked up yet. :) Anyway, I only live on one acre, but lots of farm land around and yesterday afternoon, broad daylight too, 6 deer walked out of the woods across the street to cross the farm field there. This time of year I see the deer almost every day and I love it. Two days ago I saw a coyote out that kitchen window. I think he was rather young and got seperated from the pack. He looked a little lost. They are pretty rampant around here, but this is only the 2nd time in 11 years that I have seen one and the first time in broad day light. Living out in the country defnintely has it's perks.

You all are very lucky for the views and acreage, I do however love seeing and hearng the birds while looking out the windows, unfortunately I dont have window in my kitchen BUT I do have 2 in the room just off the kitchen which is our sitting room. I love when the sun shines through and watching the birds play, it's beautiful.

~I don't mind washing dishes by hand either if the view is good. Right now my kitchen window looks out to my neighbor's large collection of ugly cars. It's a double blessing having a dishwasher because I don't have to stand out there an hour looking at that view and it frees up my time so I can be here!~
