I have decided to offer typing skills on craiglist for resume's and other documents.

What should I charge? Should I charge by the pages?

By the hour would be the norm but for quick jobs I do it by the half hour.

However, I usually do such things for favours, kind or non-monetary reward so I wouldn't know what to charge.

I fixed a motor scooter for a side of beef once. I'll take anything of value.

Money is for the elites who like to buy stuff.

I used to do them before computers. The norm was $1.00 per page (in 1977). The only time I used anything like that (or even heard of it) in recent years, it was $3.00 per page for resume prep, but that included professional advice on the resume.

i saw someone on craiglist looking for someone to type a resume for 20 bucks and thought, "hey what an idea"..

at least in my neck of the woods I should say, it not by the word but rather by the line. I dont' know what the going rate is.
