- Animals us tremendous amounts of fresh water. About 50% of all water consumed in the States if in raising livestock.
- Animals produce about 130 times more manure than humans
- Today our planet is home to (get this!!!) 1 billion pigs (I think most of those are in Manitoba)
1.3 billion cows, 1.8 billion sheep and goats and 13.5 billion chickens. Cattle alone consumes a quantity of food equal to the caloric needs of 8.7 billion people (more than the human pop on earth).
