Southern Peach Cobbler


Recipe Description
A sweet and delicious treat that's easy on your wallet.​
Preparation Steps:
Prepare a large baking dish.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Gather and measure ingredients.​
Level of Difficulty:
Easy​
Time Needed:
approx. 1 hour​
Ingredients:
*1 cup flour
*1 cup sugar
*1 cup milk
*1 stick of butter/ margarine
*1 large can of peaches ((can use canned in juice or lite syrup))
*1 tsp cinnamon​
Serves:
Directions:
~Place butter into prepared baking dish; place dish in oven to melt butter.
~Pour sugar and flour into a bowl, and mix well.
~Add the milk but don't mix.
~Once the butter is melted, pour the mixture into
that bowl.
~Add the peaches, but don't mix.
~Sprinkle cinnamon over mix.
~Carefully place in oven and bake at 400 degrees for about an hour.​

this is the recipe referred to as "cuppa, cuppa, cuppa" in steel magnolias.
my friends and i refer to it as a heart attack in a baking dish - delightful!

quoting myself-- i forgot to say we use a cup of butter in the baking dish. heart attack cobbler!

I love cobblers. I add 1 egg to my dough mixture and it makes it more cakey than chewy.

Heart attack in a pan...not! All ingredients are good ones unless you use the margarine. Your body can process everything except for the margarine. Use butter and keep a cow in business. You're not eating this stuff every day, right?

Try it with French Vanilla ice cream....Yummmmm...Absolutely love it!!

i have made this for sca feast for 250 or more. it's easy and cheap to make for crowds in disposable pans.

if you leave it out during the whole event, people come over to graze and to graze and to graze...
