spiced smashed chickpeas


Recipe Description
This is a Jamie Oliver snacky type recipe​
Preparation Steps:
Soak and cook dried chickpeas if using.

Vary the spices to taste, good with flavoured olive oils as well as just extra virgin. We usually have these with pitta crisps - cut up pitta, toss with olive oil and paprika, bake in a hottish oven for 10 minutes.​

Time Needed:
5 minutes (plus bean boiling time)​
Ingredients:
400g tin chickpeas
pinch of cumin seeds, pounded
1-2 small dreid red chillies, crumbled
clove of garlic, pounded to a paste
juice of a lemon
sald and pepper
olive oil​
Serves:
6​
Directions:
Drain and rinse the chickpeas and blend/mash to a pulp. Add the spices and mix well. Add the olive oil to the consistency you desire.​
