I picked up a spiral ham for .88/ lb. I have a question tho. What is the best way to slice it? I know it's already spiral cut but I never know what to do with it after I get it home. I tried cutting down the bone, this was okay but it was not a neat cut. The bone I put in the freezer but there is a lot of ham left on it. Is there a method I am missing?

You're fine. You can cut the chunks off the bone and use that meat for casseroles or salad. There's a lot of fat in there too and usually one big gristly piece to sort out. Then use the bone to make ham stock for beans or soup.

Just cut it however and use for scalloped potatoes, tons of soup, chunked in home fries, pierogies etc. As long as it's cut/diced doesn't matter. Makes it nice.

I too use ,y hands. I take the bone and whatever is still on it and throw that and some dry pintos in the crock pot. It makes wonderful pintos and cornbread or something like that.
