On some items I really prefer the brand name, but on other things I can't tell any difference. Which items do you buy? I use:

Store brand:
canned veggies & fruit
napkins, paper plates & cups
trash bags
most soups
frozen veggies
flour, sugar, most spices
cheese

Brand-name:
certain cereals
laundry detergent
dish soap
cat foods (for one sensitive-stomach cat) :cat: :puke:
yogurt

I usually buy the store brand of most things unless I have a great coupon for a name brand. The only things that I never buy the store brands are:

Dawn Dishwashing Soap
Cascade Complete
Angel Soft Bath Tissue

Amy, this is a great thread, I am anxious to see the other's replies to it.

I usually purchase store brand for all items as well, unless I can get a great sale on brand names.

Two things that I stick with brand names are:

- IAMs cat food
- General Mills Cheerios

I only have a few products that I insist on buying brand names. They are

Jif Peanut Butter
Dawn dishwashing detergent

For everything else, I buy whatever is cheapest. In fact, even for these must haves, I stock up when I find a sale or a good coupon.

Store brands that I don't mind buying:

~Certain cereals(i try out a box first before stocking up on a good deal)
~Ralphs brand milk~ But it HAS to be that kind, no other store brand will do
~Yogurt and Cottage cheese if it's cheap enough, but I only will use the cottage cheese for baking, too gross for plain eating it straight.
~Mustard and ketchup
~Paper towels and napkins
~diapers
~cheddar cheese
~canned veggies/fruits
~applesauce
~ice cream
I know there is more i'm just too tired to remember

Name brands we HAVE to have:
~Kraft Cheese American Singles (although if i can get something else free I will!)
~Knudsen sour cream and cottage cheese
~Coca Cola
~Cheerios
~Corn Pops
~Challenge butter for dh
~Charmin toilet paper
~ Q-Tips
~Pert Plus for dh
~garnier fructis for me (I love this new product it's so good to my hair!)
~Kraft Free dressing
~C&H sugar
~Log Cabin Sryup

and there is more in that list too but I would be here all day :D
