Would like to stock the freezer with some of the summer fruits. Any guess on what the lowest prices are that we will see. So far here the best I have seen is:

Peaches/Nectarines .99 per#
Cherries $1.68#
Plums $1.68#

Peaches, nectarines and plums have been 89 and 99 cents. I don't ever remember cherries being that cheap. They are $2.99 here. I haven't been to the inexpensive produce stand probably in a week; so not sure what the price is there.

I go to the local farmer's market and even if the prices are higher sometimes than others, I like to keep the money in our neighbor's hands instead of the big markets.

This week plums and nectarines are $0.99/lb.

Also a special Friday only deal for a 5 lb. box of clementine oranges for $5 (normally $9.99 but frequently on sale for $7.99). My kids love these but I only buy them when they go down to $5 which seems to be about once a month or so.

Apples- free. I have my own trees.

I get a few pears from our neighbor, and she has grapes.I have a strawberry patch , a raspberry patch and two blueberry bushes. I love not being held hostage with those prices.

Lately I've been buying produce for pretty decent prices..

Peaches-.88-.99/lb
nectarines-.99-$1.25/lb
strawberries-.99/lb
blueberries-.99/lb
Dole salad iceburg salad mixes-.78-.99/bag
iceburg lettuce-.99/head
Zucchini and squash-.79-.99/lb
tomatoes-.99/lb

A few weeks ago, I even found bing cherries for $1.00/lb...yep...bought several pounds. :)

I wish these prices would stay around for a while, but I'm sure it won't be too long and they'll be gone.
