It's made from goat's milk and I can't even tell you what's in the one I used tonight. However it is heavenly.

Do you purchase store bought or handmade soap? And if so, what kind.

I buy cheap store-bought, but last summer, my friend gave me some of her goat's milk soap. It was wonderful. I should contact her about buying some. OTOH, she lives in Montana and shipping on top of the purchase price would be beyond my usual frugality.

Bar soap- I've made milk soaps and castille soaps and mixed oil soap. I'm not all that great at it yet, but I like to tinker with it when I get time.

I've bought homemade soap before, however this goat's milk soap is the best. The lady who sells it is a teacher at the school dh works at. Her dh found a mold the shape of a goat's head, so her goat milk soap is made in that shape. I definitely will be getting more of her soap.

We have been enjoying all kinds of soaps since Christmas. My oldest dd especially likes the soap from Burts Bees. I aslo do not like any antibacterial soap it really dries the skin out. Itchy is not good.

I have been making my own soap for about 1 year now(which isn't saying much I guess since it takes two months to cure!) and I cannot go back to anything store-bought. To me it is a cleaner feeling not being overcome by artificial colors and tons of fragrance. And it is fun to make!

I make my own soap now too. I mainly make an organic olive oil and coconut oil soap that is wonderfully nourishing. I've also made an olive oil and emu oil soap that was fabulous. I won't be buying soap again. It's easy to make and much much nicer.

Hi Shannon.

My recipe is here:
http://www.frugalvillage.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=66105

To make the emu oil soap, just swap the emu oil for the coconut oil. It makes a creamier soap but the coconut oil make the soap lather well. You could also have the three oils together, just use the soap calculator to work out your amounts.

I was surpised how easy it is to make soap. You have to do it alone and with your gloves etc, but the process itself is easy. Oh, and you must be patient. You can use the soap straight away, it needs to cure for a few weeks before use.

I love homemade soap and bath products.

The rest of my family would rather have store bought.

My mom used to make soap when I was a kid...I think it was made with oatmeal.
I buy Dove soap w/no perfumes. Son has allergies and its irritant to Dd and my "girly areas" :tmi:
Id like to find some of this goats milk soap, do you think it would be okay for my sons allergies?
