We have State Farm insurance with local agents. We have vehicles 10+ yrs old so only have liability ins. and it's about $500/yr for both vehicles. Plus we have renters ins which is $110/yr.

I checked my credit score for the first time a few years ago and I was a bit surprised that it was mid-600s. I've been debt free since about 1990, I do have 2 credit cards that I use lightly or moderately and pay off every month. (So I think the get a cc and use it and pay it each month to raise your credit limit might be bs). My SO does the same but he has never checked his credit score - or cared to.

The next time I got there to pay my bill I will ask if my credit score has an impact on what I pay.
