the bodybuilding was a good start and i lost 70 pounds doing it, but doc says it is time to do cardio.

and since the house is finished, decluttered and in good repair (27,000 dollars later...), i will turn my attention to gardening. i used to love gardening.

my neighbor was mowing my yard, but he says he cannot do it anymore, so i bought a push mower yesterday. honestly i am in pretty bad shape so i might have to build up to this.

i did 30 minutes of hacking back bushes today. whew. sweaty. i could feel my heart working.

will post updates.

I have been thinking of getting one of these also....but I just recovered in March due to a fractured shoulder...I am wondering how hard it is to push and how much upper body strength is required....how big is your lawn and how long does it take to mow it....do you run into problems with leaves/sticks...just wondering..........

i have 1/4 acre on a texas surburban lot, very easy to push , just pushed with my belly. turns took practice, with a low, one handed, "swoop" of the handle and turn. it has automatic bicycle gears (sort of...) so very easy to push.

i need a weed whacker
i need the use of a weed whacker
i have to find another way to whack weeds
i have to find another way to whack weeds for free.

clippers? scissors? insane not allowed.

how did they whack weeds before weed whackers were invented? i am already doing a "spade cut edge" along the concrete parts, but it's along the fence that has me ?????

i learned how to do a "spade cut edge" when living in England, keeps grass from jumping across the moat. looks nice too and easily maintained once cut.
