Seriously I am a firm believer in living in balance in all areas of life, so I try to walk "the middle path." That can be difficult because you have people pulling at you from both directions. And I have been labeled a not just a liberal but a "big bad one" for some of the craziest things

My MIL used to be republican and now considers herself a democrat. I always am surprised when that happens because all my life people would say to me "Just you wait, the older you get, the more conservative you'll get!" and that has yet to happen!

What change for me is the way black people were treaty in is country. There are lot of people who work hard and struggle just do right for their family. These people are not lazy.

I hate that the GOP has apparently succeeded in making the concept of giving a [email protected] about anyone other than yourself into a character flaw.

That's what Gramm's remarks yesterday reminded me of as well. For those who may not have had a chance to hear of this yet, yesterday, Mccain's top economic advisor Gramm (remember Enron, Mortage Crisis, Oil Futures :monke said Americans are a nation of whiners and that we are in a 'mental recession' LOL! Yep.

So you mean all my problems are in my mind? Not in my checkbook?! This is great news. Yes, and now you too can just will your heating bill to get paid, or your electricity bill or your mortgage or your medical bills. And your car doesn't need gas, it can just run on good vibes and will power.

Well said gg! This is exactly what has chased me away from the conservative side. Some of the neo-Con stuff is just way too mean spirited for my taste.

I think it is totally appropriate to state the reason why we have chosen a particular defining political label.

I spent most of my twenties being a very strong conservative because of how I was raised and my first marriage and my huge family that surrounded me. It was like at that time I didn't have a brain to think for myself and I just went with the flow with my family. Something just didn't sit right with me and I started to question many issues. It wasn't until I took a step back and really looked at all the issues and I had to look at both sides to be fair. I would say it was slowly coming but I guess I am a big leftie in my 30's and pushing 40.lol And happy.
