I am beyond the crying stage at this point... hovering in sheer survival mode.

The Old Man came home from work an hour late. Mind you he works 10 minutes away. I thought something was wrong.

He walked in, gave me a hug and wouldn't let go... now I know there is something wrong...

He handed me a copy of his works schedule next week... I skimmed down the list figuring his boss had once again played with his hours. I skimmed... and skimmed... and even flipped the page over. There was no Old Man listed on the schedule.

He told me his boss had seen him do the very thing with the schedule and asked him if there is something wrong...

Is there something wrong????

Old Man asked him if he was fired. His boss said no, he just doesn't "have any hours next week and may not have any the week after that, was there a problem with that?"

So... I made DD dinner, hugged the Old Man again and said I had some errands to run and may as well go now since I was getting cabin fever from having the flu all week.

Here I am at DD dad's house, I didn't want them to see me go in to a full panic attack... Momma is too strong for that... everything will be okay as long as Momma is breathing...

Well, Momma is petrified! There is NO money in the bank, as a matter of fact, we still owe $300 this month. There is NO money coming in for next month as of right now.

I don't even know where to start.

Big hugs going out to you right now, LadyV.:hug2: Do y'all have anything you can sell to help make up the $300 for the month? I know both you and your guy must be just totally in a panic right now. Unfortunately, I understand what you mean by having to be the one who keeps it all together. Just know we're all here for you. Let us know what happens.

omg i can't even begin to imagine... i'm absolutely terrified of the same thing happening to us. :(

however, can either of you go out tomorrow and get part time jobs?
even if it's at a local store greeting people or whatever.

part time hours somewhere else is better than none at all.

hon, i can't think of anything else to say...
we're here for you and hoping for the absolute best for you!!

Thank you everyone!

DD is still on school vacation and I still look like creeping death because of the flu... not sure what potential employers would think of me bringing either with me tomorrow looking for a job

Old Man isn't in construction, and there really isn't any side jobs he can do. I already sent his resume out to over 40 different places. Some he may not even qualify for, but you never know and it didn't cost me anything to send them.

I've been looking around the house for things to sell. Honestly, we don't have a sofa, table/chairs, nothing... my neighbors joke that at least we know we will never be robbed because there is nothing in here to steal.

I will have to keep looking around and see what I can do. Maybe someone will break in and LEAVE us something...

Old Man has gone off to bed, he's having an emotional time right now. He feels as if he let his family down since he is no longer a provider.

My job search got tossed to the fan. Apparently, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has no record of my nursing. They said they can't even find proof that I was ever a CNA... and I made that back in June 1989! So, now I am trying to find other things to do.

We are still stuck with the 1 car, no public transportation and DD going to school over 10 miles away.

Whatever either of us gets, we have to have the car available to the other so whomever is on DD duty can get her.

I can see if we can qualify for any emergency services to at least keep the lights and things on until a paycheck finds it's way in.

Now I am going to go back to pretending to be the pillar holding the roof up...

That's right--I remember you are also getting over the flu... and now this. When it rains, sometimes you just look out the window and see arks passing by. I'll keep y'all in my thoughts and prayers.

I haven't posted her long and I know you don't know me well or at all but wanted to chime in that Iwill keep you in my thoughts.

I would definately look into emergency assistance via your state and general assitance via your city/town. It may keep your head above water until things take a turn for the better.

Oh, I hope you feel much better soon. It is always easier to strategize when you don't feel like you have been tossed under the bus.
