I was up early this morning when my local news did a 'teaser' about tomatoes and the recent salmonella... So I looked the story up.

Fungicides and pesticides sprayed on commercial produce plants have tested positive for salmonella. There are several university studies with these results.

One thing that's good about the rising prices...the cost difference between organic & non-organic is shrinking. I'm finding myself more willing to pay an extra 50c for something organic. I figure, if I've got to pay that much I may as well get something GOOD.

I feel really badly for the farmers who make their living growing tomatoes. This has hurt them soooooo badly. It's amazing how often this happens anymore.
