I was up early this morning when my local news did a 'teaser' about tomatoes and the recent salmonella... So I looked the story up.

Take it for what it's worth...

Fungicides and pesticides sprayed on commercial produce plants have tested positive for salmonella. There are several university studies with these results.

Try "googling" the words "fungicide salmonella" and see what you learn.

One thing that's good about the rising prices...the cost difference between organic & non-organic is shrinking. I'm finding myself more willing to pay an extra 50c for something organic. I figure, if I've got to pay that much I may as well get something GOOD.
