Sunday we went to town and of course DH was driving because he doesn't like my driving. :blah: Well, we were in the parking lot of Circuit City; we were leaving but the traffic to the main road was heavy and he couldn't pull onto the roadway. He decides to back up and go around to the back of the building where there is another exit with less traffic. He checks his mirrors to make sure it is ok. Mind you, we are in a 4X4 Chevy double cab truckand we were up on a hill. I have trouble seeing behind me when I drive it. Well, as you probably have already guessed, there was a little Volkswagon Jetta behind him. He didn't see it, but we felt the bump! :ugh: At least, the lady was very nice about it. His trailer hitch hit her bumper and cracked it. :pdoff: At least we both have State Farm insurance, so it should be settled quickly, or I hope so anyway. The insurance adjuster called today to get the info on what happened and to start the claim for her. It didn't do any damage to DH's vehicle, so no need for us to claim anything. I am dreading our insurance going up, but am glad we had insurance so we didn't have to come up with anything out of pocket. Another good thing is, it was in a private parking lot and no tickets were issued. WHEW!!!

Now, I can tease DH about who the better driver actually is. HA!! I have been involved in 2 accidents, but neither was my fault. The other driver always ended up paying for my repairs and I even received a monetary settlement on one. His accident was his fault.

Hopefully your insurance won't go up :)
We've had two minor fender benders (both in parking areas) with no tickets and no claims/damage on our vehicles (only the others) in the past year and dh was just telling me that our insurance actually went down $3 :D

I hope this will be our case too. Our insurance is already high enough with having a teen boy on it and soon to be another one.

Ohhh, I feel for ya! I also understand, I'm the good driver here, hubby drives me NUTS with his driving!

Also SO glad there wasn't more damage to their car! We have a crew cab dually and hubby bumped into a tiny car from behind doing no more than 15 mph and TOTALLED the car! My truck had NO DAMAGE!

Same thing happened to me, but I was the "little car". I had $1500 worth of damage (yeah, just from someone backing up at aroudn 1 mph) and HIS insurance company only paid $500. Stupid no-fault insurance . . .
