Preparation Steps:
Level of Difficulty:
Easy
Time Needed:
Ingredients:
5 cups leftover cooked rice
oil
1 onion, diced
2 teaspoons minced garlic
2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
3 cups loosely packed bean sprouts
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
8 tablespoons light soy sauce
1 cup sliced button mushroom
Serves:
Directions:
Sautee onions and garlic in a large pan.

Add mushrooms and frozen vegetables. Cook until vegetables are warmed through.

Add in turmeric and mix well.

Thanks for posting that, I can never get my fried rice quite tasty enough, hopefully chucking in the tumeric will help.

I'm not sure I know what tumeric tastes like! I have added butter and toasted sesame seeds to my fried rice, and it enhances the taste.

Sesame oil is what gives your fried rice that *Asian* taste.
Interesting, I didn't think it tasted different than the fried rice I've ordered out. But I'm notorious for not noticing little differences in taste (which conveniently made it real easy for me to switch to generics..hehe)
