Wacky Cake​

Recipe Description

a chocolate cake that uses no eggs​

Preparation Steps:

pre-heat oven to 325 degrees​

Level of Difficulty:

Easy​

Time Needed:

30-40 mins​

Ingredients:

2 1/4 cup flour
1 1/2 cup sugar
4 1/2 Tablespoons cocoa
1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoon vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup & 1 teaspoon oil
1 1/2 cup cold water​

Directions:

Sift all dry ingredients into an oblong pan. Make 3 wells( holes) in the middle of the mixture. Add vinegar, vanilla, oil each in one hole ( vanilla in one well, oil in the next well, etc). Pour cold water over the mixture. Stir with a spoon ( or fork) until smooth. Bake for 30-35 mins.
Frost as you choose​

You can also use orange extract in place of the vanilla.

This is the cake that my inlaws make for everyones birthday!! A family fave for sure!!!!

I like to top this with a topping of cinnamon/sugar before baking instead of using frosting. The sugar gets crunchy and makes a nice contrast to the moist cake.
