Finally I found someone at the police station to listen to me. I asked firmly to speak with an officer and they finally let me. Luckily (thank you for the prayers), He had heard of the stalker and knew him to be dangerous. He let me talk to an investigator and SHE was able to help. She took all the info and went to the Commonwealth Attorney and they decided I did have enough to file a stalking charge. The investigator called me at home last night and told me that it was being processed and he would be picked up. He will be able to get out on a very low bail, but at least he will have a formal charge against him. They gave me a protective order which says he has to stay away from me and my family completely. Its only good until Monday. I have to go to court and request a longer protective order. I am seeing the investigator again today and she will show me what to do over at the court house.

She did tell me that I would now be in a greater danger and need to be prepared at all times. She said that I should and could do ANYTHING I felt was necessary to protect myself if he came at me. It appears that when you are only 5 ft no inches tall they believe that you would be acting in self defense. Need I say he could make 2 of me.

SO and DD are worried for me. I haven't told dd very much, just enough to keep her safe but she knows that I am scared and it makes her tense too. She has a field trip out of the area today and I am glad. It will take her little mind off mama for a while.

Please continue to pray over this whole situation, for our safety, for the courts understanding and for SO and my relationship.

Pat, this is scary! Tell me...I haven't followed your story from the start. When did this start and do you know this person? Being french, I don't even know what the word *stalker* means, but I could see it was someone who's dangerous, by what you are telling us.

I orginally posted this under the April prayer request. A stalker is someone who is basically following you or contacting you in some way and is threatening your life. There is more to it than that, but you can get the idea. He is an ex-bf from years ago. He is from the middle east and is very anit-american right now. He has been harassing me for a couple of years but it has greatly accelerated since the 9/11 terrorist attack. He has become very verbally threatening and agressive in the last few months.

I hope this clarifies it a bit and thank you so much for thinking of me. Please keep up those prayers and good thoughts.

I'm glad the police are finally listening and going to do something....
Go to court and get the longer protective order....then honestly think of taking a gun saftey class and getting a weapons permit!!!! I would not just say this because I do not believe everyone needs a weapons permit....but your case could become a matter of your or your families saftey....and for that reason I would consider it.....
Please do not think I'm pysco, I'm not.at least not yet anyway....but in to many stalking cases has turned out badly....and I don't want that for you!!

Im so glad someone finally HEARD you! Please take every precaution to keep yourself and your family safe. Follow through with the restraining order and call the police EVERY TIME he breaks it. He will either end up in jail deported or too wise to mess with you

Hello everyone,
The stalker was finally picked up by the police at around 7 last night and my protective order is now active. Monday I will have to try and get a permanent one from the judge. Me and SO are not having a real easy time right now. Things are just tense for all of us. I am hoping the weekend will help. On top of it all, my car broke down yesterday so poor old SO is also having to haul me and dd around today. Bless His Heart. I am not in a posting mood today, I am horribly sick on my stomach - from nerves I'm sure - but I am thinking of you guys and hoping that each of you has a wonderful weekend. Give those dh, bf and so a big hug and let them know that they are loved (it's much better than the alternative).
