It is so hot today and our neighborhood pool is closed on Mondays. I decided to surprise the girls and take them to see the Herbie movie. We were on our way, crossed a cross street at a green light and the traffic in front of me stopped dead. I didn't - and rear ended the Blazer in front of me. He got pushed into the car in front of him.

My poor 94 Plymouth Voyager van has the most damage. The Blazer had one of those outside spare tires and it crushed my hood, broke all my lights, damaged the radiator, fenders are pushed back.

It is at the car repair shop now, but I am guessing they will total it and there is no way we can afford another vehicle. On top of that our insurance is going to go through the roof.

I am glad no one was hurt, (I am sore and achy), but we don't need this financial hit right now.

The most important thing (as you know) is that no one got seriously hurt! I hope you feel better soon, and aren't more sore tomorrow.

And I hope the repair bill isn't overly large!

How are the kids doing? Have they spoken to you about it? That can be especially scary for the kiddos, let them know that it is ok to talk about how they feel (I am sure you have already told them that, I am babbling)

I am so glad to hear that you are ok. The first sign that things aren't feeling so great, you get your tushie into a doctor. I want you to be well.

I hope for your financial sake that insurance is gentle with their rate changes, and that you can find a great deal on a new ride.

This seems like one of those frustrating "that's what you get for trying to do something nice" moments! Fortunately, you're all ok.

Here's hoping for you that your repair bill won't be too heinous.

Last time I had a crash, I just got the necessary stuff fixed, and had my uncle (a car guy, but doesn't do body repairs) bolt my bumper back on. It had a giant hole in it, but it was there, and it saved me $1000.00. Maybe you'll be able to get away with something similar?

Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

I am so glad nobody was hurt. I'm saying a quick prayer that your car will be repair-able (is that a word?) or that something else will work out for you there.
