I recently had a yard sale and got rid of a bunch of stuff!!! yeah me. I also had several pieces of furniture given to me that I have been meaning to do something with.

Well, since I am on a hardly spending, contentment at home kick, I decided to paint some of these projects that have been sitting for years!!! I had a quart of black paint sitting around and had an old table that I have had since I was a kid. It had pretty turned legs and was always painted white. I painted that puppy up black and put it in my living room and it goes with all my prims awesomely!!!

I also painted an old shelf with a drop down desk front I had purchased at a yard sale two years ago for $15. Painted that black and put it in my kitchen. Got out my fall decorations that i have collected from here and there for 26 years (smile) and put them out and it looks so cute!!!

Also had a shelf I had gotten at a yard sale for $3 a year or so ago. About 1 1/2 feet tall and 8 inches wide with 4 shelves. It was hideously painted, but I saw potential! Painted it black and it will go in my kitchen also.

I have enough paint left to paint a little end table that is painted green in my living room. all that from one quart of paint and some time!! It was fun too!

Those pieces sound great!

When my husband was just out of high school he picked up old TVs that were on the side of the road...you know, the old ones in the wood cabinets that had gone out of style. He took out all the TV guts and put doors on the front of the cabinet and plywood on the back. They turned out really nice and just about everyone in the family received one. When his grandmother died we were given the one he made for her. I recently painted it black as well as an old mirror that had an ugly finish on the frame. I put them together and made a table/mirror combo for my faux entry and they look like they came together. I use the cabinet for phone books, catalogs, and magazines...I can close the doors and *poof* the clutter is gone.

I am really loving the black accents in my home! It looks so good with the prim/country look and also all of my holiday stuff. I need to take down my Halloween things ( I only have a couple) and put out my Thanksgiving items. I only had a few of those too, but last year at yard sales and Salvie I picked up several cute turkeys. One is stuffed and is about 2 feet tall and he sits! So cute! Can't wait to get that box of stuff out! Then watch out it's Christmas and my snowmen! I have tons!!!!
