Well because of the work dh is now doing, we won't be having any vacation this summer, but I do plan on some getaways, even if for only a weekend.

I want to go to Riding Mountain National Park one weekend and will do a few picnics on the weekends dh doesn't work.

Come September, I'd like to take a trip, although I'm not sure where yet.

How about you, what are your plans for this summer?

We will not be taking any big vacations this summer but we will doing a lot of weekend getaways camping. We plan on at least 1 per month. It is actually hard to call it camping since we do it in the motorhome complete with bathroom, shower, air conditioning, microwave, refrigerator and (I am embarrassed to say it but---television). It is getting away from the house and going to the lake and having quality time with my family so I truly love it. Usually my Dad takes his motorhome too and we have lots of extended family there and it is great. (Now he takes ALL the luxuries of home with him--he has a satelite dish for his television in his motorhome. I told him the last time we went that is was a shame that the hardest part of setting up camp is getting the satelite lined up and set up, :D )

We are going for a long weekend on Memorial Day weekend. I can hardly wait.

We will be going a week to a family summer camp in July. I love those places, because I have no cooking to do, the kids have animators to occupy them...They have different activities for different age groups. The place is in the border of a lake or river and it's so peaceful there!

We are taking a family pass for the *La Ronde Amusement park* this summer. It pays itself after the 2nd time. We can go as much as we want with the kids. With a 14 and 12 year old, it will be fun, because they are less happy just going to a park...

Dh and I were going to take a week vacation, but because he might be getting a job, we are just going to go to Kings Island for the weekend.

DD1 and I are going to Dorney Park in Allentown, PA on a band trip in 2 weeks :D

In June, we go to the shore (Wildwood) for Father's Day weekend. We do this every year whether we can afford to or not. We all look forward to it.

I hope to get to Gettysburg for a weekend sometime this summer. It's only 2 hours away.

In August we go camping. I have a travel trailer (1977  ) but it is in really nice condition. No tv, but we have a shower, toilet, refrigerator, stove, and I just recently purchased a microwave for it at a yard sale for $7.00 ;)

Slowtypinwoman, my DH hates camping too. We go camping for a week at the shore without him. Inlaws camp next to us. DH usually comes down to see us by Wednesday and spends one night. (He misses us :) ) He trailers it down there for me, then picks us up. The kids LOVE IT and so do I. I don't know what I would do if I didn't live close to the shore!

In October we are going to Walt Disney World for a week or so. We are driving down, so that is part of the adventure.

WHEW, now that I see this written out, I look like the world traveler, lol.

We're planning several "get-a-ways" this summer. At the end of June/first week in July, we head for Montana and spend time with my parents at their lake property. They are very generous and pay for all our expenses while we are there including hotel rooms or cabins (they are going to start building their retirement home their this summer). Celebrating the 4th of July there has become a tradition and we love it! We also do our big all family Birthday party then and celebrate all the birthdays at once.:)
Camping with some friends is also on the agenda this summer. The moms and kids set up camp while the daddies are at work and then they come and join us. Of course we have to hit Silverwood theme park once. They opened a water park in conjunction with the theme park and my 2 youngest sons have free tickets to go and I found $5 off coupons for my DH, son, myself and friends that are going with us. If time (and finances) allows, I'd like to make a trip over to the Seattle area and visist family there too. The kids and I could do this during the week, but I'd love to have DH be able to join us.

Maybe a trip to Phoenix AZ to see my brother. He moved there last fall and I have never been there. Have to wait and see how the money works out first though. We will hang around the YMCA pool a lot on the weekends. They are installing a water slide and my dd is really looking forward to that. Also we will go to the zoo and some science museums that are close by.

Probably won't be any big vacation here. We'll be getting season passes to Six Flags in St. Louis.

Also will do some weekend camping trips- might take a bit longer trip in August, but will have to stay close to home - either here in Il, MO, IN .

I don't have the trip mapped out yet. As a matter of fact, I just got my packet from the Maine Dept. of Tourism today. :D DH has family in Wells so that will probably be our starting point. Then I guess it depends upon how much time the kids can take in the van.

We will be going to Maine for 2 weeks in August, dunno specifics yet of exactly when. We will be staying with my mom . I miss it so much there, being that we are the only ones that live away from my home. I plan on visiting the coast and visiting with all my family there too, as much as possible. I can't wait!:)
